<abstract>Fugro Earthdata, Inc. was tasked by Horry County, SC with a 2D planimetric update of their existing structure, transporation, impervious surface, and hydro polygon datasets. This was accomplished through utilizing the new 2010 6 inch GSD orthophotography.</abstract>
<purpose>The purpose of the update was to provide Horry County with an up to date planimetric data set representing impervious surfaces throughout the county. The structure data was one feature class updated as part of the of impervious planimetric update.</purpose>

<procdesc>The existing 2009 Horry County planimetric data was converted to a dgn file format for use with MicroStation V8. The attribute information contained in the 2009 data was converted to a seed/symbolgy file for use with MicroStation. Addtional information was added to the seed file to ensure new attributes were captured when data was updated. In Microstation the planimetric data was brought in over the 2010 orthophotography. A technician manually reviewed the existing data against the orthos and made upates, additions, and/or deletions were needed to align the planimetrics to the orthos. Attribute information was updated if data was updated or added. Once the entire project area was completed in MicroStation the data was run through some automated QC checkes to check for data collection errors. If found errors were corrected. Once the data passed the the automated QC the data was converted to a polygon ESRI compatible format. A QC check was performed in ArcMap. A final deliverable was prepared in the customer specified geodatabase format.</procdesc>
